iconic moments
"Charm & Hex": From Girl Group Challenge to Viral Sensation 👯
The first challenge of the season, a girl group performance, saw the birth of a phenomenon. One of the three competing groups, "Mystic Mavens," consisting of Prue Halliwell, Paige Matthews, Sabrina Spellman, and The Other Mother, created and performed the song "Charm & Hex". This catchy, witchy tune, featuring verses that showcased the queens’ individual personalities and magical prowess, quickly gained popularity beyond the show. "Charm & Hex" became a viral sensation, proving the power of drag to transcend the confines of the competition and resonate with a wider audience. It became an anthem for embracing one’s power and celebrating individuality, solidifying its place as one of RPFDR Season 4’s most iconic moments.
🐦🔥 The Evil Queen's Comeback: Regina Mills' Unforeseen Rise
Regina Mills' journey was a rollercoaster ride. Initially eliminated in the very first episode after losing a lip sync battle against Jeanne, she made a shocking return in Episode 5. This return was met with mixed reactions, with some queens questioning her place in the competition. However, Regina silenced her doubters with her talent, winning the superhero challenge with her "Chrono" persona. Although she continued to face scrutiny, Regina's resilience led her all the way to the finale, where she finished as runner-up.
Madison Montgomery: Reign of Terror and Lip Sync Assassin 💃
Madison Montgomery, known for her over-the-top personality and dramatic flair, entered the competition with a bang. Despite landing in the bottom three every episode she was there, Madison consistently dominated the lip syncs. Her lip sync skills earned her the title of "lip sync assassin," sending home both Jeanne and Sabrina Spellman. Madison's reign ended when she lost a lip sync to Myrtle Snow and was eliminated.
🔮 Margo Hanson's Mysterious Victory: A Twist of Fate
Margo Hanson, the self-proclaimed "real queen," consistently delivered strong performances and runway looks. Her mysterious win in Episode 7 sparked controversy and debate. In order to win the "Turn Off the Lights" lip sync, Margo used a secret advantage, a shimmering crystal won in the Reading Challenge, to manipulate the outcome and secure a double win with Bayonetta. This strategic move, while controversial, showcased Margo's cunning and solidified her place in RPFDR herstory. However, her reign ended in Episode 10 when she lost a lip sync to Regina Mills.
Bayonetta and Prue Halliwell's Astral Meeting: A Double Shantay for the Ages 👻
The rivalry between Bayonetta and Prue Halliwell was a highlight of the season, culminating in a dramatic lip sync in Episode 10. Facing elimination, both queens met on the astral plane during untucked, allowing them to plan and deliver a show-stopping performance to "Crying at the Discotheque." The judges were so impressed that they declared a double shantay, allowing both queens to stay in the competition. This decision shocked the other queens and solidified Bayonetta and Prue's places as top contenders.
🪄 The Charmed Ones' Redemption: Paige and Prue Return Stronger
Both Paige Matthews and Prue Halliwell returned to the competition after early eliminations in Season 1. They were determined to showcase their growth and prove they were more than just early out queens. Throughout the season, both sisters consistently delivered strong performances, securing several challenge wins. Their journey was a testament to their resilience and their unwavering sisterly bond. Paige ultimately placed fifth after losing the final lip sync for her life, while Prue made it to the top 4.
Zelda Spellman: Commanding the Middle of the Competition ❤️🔥
Zelda Spellman, the glamorous and powerful witch, entered the Werk Room as a clear frontrunner. She commanded the middle of the competition, racking up four challenge wins. Her consistent high placements and strategic gameplay made her a formidable opponent. She was considered a shoo-in for the crown but lost to Bayonetta in a surprising upset.
🔫 Bayonetta's Late Game Rise and Ultimate Victory: A Witch's Triumph
Bayonetta, despite a strong start and consistent performance, really came into her own in the later stages of the competition. She secured her first win in Episode 7, followed by two more in Episodes 9 & 11. This late-game surge culminated in a dynamic lip sync performance against Regina Mills in the finale, securing her the crown as America's Next Fantasy Drag Superstar. Her victory was a testament to her unwavering confidence, undeniable talent, and ability to rise above the drama.

Jeanne's time on Season 4 was brief but glamorous, marked by a noticeable disconnect between her perception of her abilities and her actual performance. From the moment she sashayed into the werkroom, Jeanne exuded an air of effortless style and confidence. However, this self-proclaimed style icon failed to impress right out the gate, perhaps foreshadowing the challenges she would face in the competition. Despite surviving the first episode's lipsync, Regina's eventual return left Jeanne reluctantly to claim the Porkchop position this season.

She wasn't just brewing up looks; she secured not one but two coveted "High" placements in the first two episodes alone, leaving the judges spellbound. This teenage dream was truly casting a spell on everyone... until she wasn't. In a shocking turn of events, Sabrina was defeated in the Snatch Game by none other than this season's lip sync assassin, Madison Montgomery, who has a knack for sending even the most promising queens packing.
While Sabrina's time on Season 4 was cut tragically short, she left a message of resilience, promising to make magic happen wherever she goes. Had she survived that fateful Episode 3 elimination, who knows what heights this enchanting queen could have reached?

Madison Montgomery strutted into Season 4 in a cloud of cigarette smoke and arrogance. While her time on the show only lasted four episodes, she made sure to remind everyone: "There's always someone better," and honey, she was convinced that "someone better" was her. Let's be clear, she did not come to make friends. She came to snatch the crown and remind everyone why she's television's most iconic Supreme... even if her track record didn't exactly scream "winner."
Right out of the gate, this self-proclaimed "lipsync assassin" landed in the bottom two, sending both Jeanne and Sabrina sashaying away with her killer lip sync skills. Despite her lipsync prowess, Madison seemed to forget that charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent also matter.
Ultimately, Madison's reign of terror came to an end at the hands of her "American Horror Story" sister, Myrtle Snow. While her elimination in Episode 4 was a shock, especially given her track record of dominating the lip syncs, it served as a harsh reminder that even the most confident queen can stumble again and again.

Myrtle Snow entered the werkroom as a fashionable queen with a flair for the dramatic, but she quickly learned that confidence doesn't always equal success. She struggled to impress the judges in the design challenges, and her attempts to assert herself in the werkroom often backfired. Despite a few shining moments and a killer lip-sync against Madison Montgomery, Myrtle ultimately faded into the background, proving that even the most stylish witches can get lost in the shadows.

Gruntilda arrived at the competition with a wicked sense of humor and a desire to prove herself against the other witches. While she never quite rose to the top, she consistently delivered solid performances and even managed to send Myrtle Snow packing after a killer lip sync.
Despite her later RPFDR appearances, Gruntilda preferred to go by her full name and not the nickname "Grunty," which she saw as a reminder of past enemies. Although she tried to shake the label of underdog, Gruntilda's attempts to escape her villainous past were cut short when her magic failed to impress RuPaul.
Exit Line & Mirror Message:

She secured her place as a true contender with a string of high placements, proving her mastery of both magic and performance. However, her manipulative tactics and shady demeanor created friction with some of the other queens, leading to tension and confrontations in the Werkroom.
Despite her undeniable talent, The Other Mother's luck ran out when her performances failed to impress the judges, ultimately leading to her elimination. She exited the competition with a haunting message, leaving the remaining queens to wonder if her sinister influence would continue to linger.

Margo Hanson strutted into the Werkroom with her signature brand of confidence and sharp wit, quickly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with. She impressed the judges early on, securing a couple high placements and even sharing a win with Bayonetta later in the season. However, Margo's competitive nature and tendency to stir the pot caused friction in the Werkroom, particularly with Myrtle Snow.
Despite her strong start, a series of safe placements left Margo vulnerable, and she was ultimately eliminated after landing in the bottom two for the first time. Margo exited the competition with her usual flair for the dramatic, leaving the other queens to wonder if she had truly shown them all the magic she possessed.
In a surprising twist, Margo later revealed that she had used a magical artifact to secure her double win with Bayonetta, altering RuPaul's decision and leaving the other queens questioning the legitimacy of her victory. Margo remained unapologetic about her actions, maintaining that she deserved the win and cementing her legacy as a queen who was willing to break the rules to come out on top.

Paige Matthews, having previously gone home first on Season 1, entered Season 4 with something to prove. She quickly rose to the top, snatching two wins in a row and solidifying her place as a top contender for the crown. Her rivalry with her sister Prue, also a returning queen from Season 1, added another layer of drama to the competition as both sisters tried to create their own legacy in the competition.
Despite some bumps in the road, including a few trips to the bottom, Paige's charisma and performance abilities, especially her lip-syncing skills, kept her in the running for the crown. However, Paige’s reign faltered when she failed to impress the judges in the final challenge, landing her in the bottom two with Zelda Spellman. While she fought hard in the lip-sync, her journey ultimately ended with a heartfelt elimination, leaving her one spot shy of the finale.
Though she didn't take home the crown, Paige proved that she's a force to be reckoned with, transforming from a first-out queen into a fan favorite and earning the title of Miss Congeniality.

She even snatched a win for her hilarious Snatch Game performance as the Morrigan.

Initially sent packing after a lackluster performance in the girl group challenge, Regina returned with a vengeance, slaying the runway in a tribute to past Drag Race queens that earned her a spot back in the competition. She wasted no time asserting herself.
Regina's journey wasn't without its challenges, as her return was met with mixed reactions from the other queens, some questioning her place in the competition. Her signature style, a mix of high fashion and witchy glamour, immediately set her apart from the competition. Bayonetta quickly proved herself to be a force to be reckoned with, securing high placements in the design and performance challenges.
